GENERATOR TECHNICIAN

A Generator Technician is essential to the reliable operation of power generation systems across a variety of critical environments. This role involves conducting routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing system malfunctions, and ensuring optimal generator performance. Success in this position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of generators and associated systems
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair generator malfunctions efficiently
Install, test, and commission new generators and related electrical equipment
Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory usage
Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments
Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to emergency repair requests
Monitor generator performance and recommend system improvements or upgrades
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior technicians

Required Skills and Qualifications

Diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering from any reputable institute
A minimum Proven experience of 2 years installing, repairing and servicing generators
Experience in using generator and electrical diagnostic tools
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to customer service and operational reliability
Valid driver’s license
