Job Title: Generator Technician
No. of Openings: Eight (08)
Duty Station: Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
| Responsibility: | a) Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel generators to include fuel system, lubrication system, cooling systems, Electrical system. b) Perform Installations, major repairs and Engine overhaul on diesel generators. c) Troubleshoot faults on diesel generator sets and have them fixed within a shorter time frame. d) Responsible for scheduled routine maintenance, emergency repairs and overhauling of generators, including the installation of auxiliary fuel systems, such as main tanks, transfer pump and filters. e) Calculate accurate requirement of electrical loads for proper sizing of generators. f) Perform generator synchronization works and ensure the generators are well synchronized to minimize the fuel consumption, spares and maintenance. g) Ensure the smooth operation of all generator in accordance with the manufacturer’s regulations and guidelines. h) Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain different make model of Diesel Engine power generators utilizing diagnostics tool (EST- Electronic service tool).Troubleshoot on generator controller faults, rewiring of sensors, controllers and their programming. i) Compile technical generator maintenance reports and material requisitions. |
| Qualification: | Minimum of Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or an Equivalent. |
| Work experience: | a) A minimum of three (04) years of practical experience in installation, repair, servicing of generators and engine overhaul. b) Experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic is desirable. c) Experience in using Generator/Electronic diagnostic tools is desirable. d) Knowledge or work experience regarding generator synchronization systems, i.e. FG Wilson EASY GEN panels 2500 & 3200 also for COELMO Generators, LEXYSM & LEXYSYNC Parallel Control Boards is added advantage. |
| Desirable Languages: | English, Swahili and French. |
