Kananga, formerly known as Luluabourg is the capital city of Kasai-central province in the Democratic Republic of Congo was founded in 1958. It is the fourth most populous urban area in the country, with an estimated population of 1,524,000 (2010 est.) as of 2021.

CMM Global started a CONTRACT with MONUSCO under the United Nations peace keeping missions sites at the Airport and MONUSCO headquarters (town offices) from May 2019, we did mobilization, recruited and trained technicians for the daily full operation and maintenance of the diesel generators, until when peace returned in the region.

The Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator, David Mclachlan-Karr, also recalled that MONUSCO needs to withdraw, though it did not at all mean the departure of the UN of the Kasai region, ended in the province in May 2021.
